Our community partnerships are instrumental to achieving our goals of creating a nurturing environment for our native species and connecting people with nature.
We have been working with the University of Canterbury student led club, EnviroSoc, and Sustainability Office since 2022. Over 100 traps are checked by student volunteers each week. Our campus trapping program gives students skills in trapping and monitoring and provides opportunities for leadership that can be utilised in their future careers. Our students enjoy time immersed in nature between lectures and connecting with like-minded people who are passionate about the environment.

Trapping Tracker
We recently launched a tiered service system to recognise and reward our student volunteers.
This initiative recognises hours spent trapping, monitoring and volunteering in the community and at schools. Student volunteers move up levels by logging a set amount of hours and demonstrating expertise and leadership. Each term we co-host a Trap & Yaps with EnviroSoc where we award stickers to those that have advanced in the system and these volunteers go in the draw to win a prize from one of our sponsors.

Rollickin Gelato
We’ve teamed up with Rollickin Gelato to deliver sweet treats for our volunteers and help strengthen community connections. We recently co-hosted a nature walk through Riccarton Bush as part of The Walking Festival and everyone got a free scoop plus some epic spot prizes!
Grab a delicious scoop from their new Riccarton Store at 42 Rotherham Street! Get the details at https://www.rollickin.co.nz
Further Faster
Further Faster supports our mahi by providing prizes for our EnviroSoc volunteers.
We welcome donations! Your kindness goes a LONG way. Donations allow us to supply traps to schools for free removing financial obstacles for young people to be empowered and connected to nature. We also use these donations to run community events and continue to supply traps at discounted rates. If you are interested in donating our bank details are below. We also use Give a Trap and update this to show current needs in our project. We thank everyone for their support.
